財政司司長曾蔭權在三月七日發表任內最後一份財政預算案。香港大學民意研究計劃早前就市民對該份財政預算案的即時反應進行了電話調查，結果己在《港大民意網站》發放。在立法會辯論投票前數天，本研究計劃於三月三十至三十一日期間再進行一次跟進調查，以探討市民對今年財政預算案的意見有何變化。該調查的結果今在上述網站發放，網站同時載有過去數年的數據以作比較。各界人士如對上述調查的研究方法有任何疑問，研究組的成員將會樂意解答，但不會對調查結果另作評述。此等安排將會在研究組的人手充裕後再作檢討。

The Financial Secretary, Mr. Donald Tsang, has announced his last Budget on 7 March 2001. The Public Opinion Programme at The University of Hong Kong has eariler conducted an instant telephone survey so as to capture the public's instant reaction towards this Budget. Prior to the final stage of the LegCo debate, POP has again conducted a follow-up survey on 30-31 March 2001 to track the change in public mood. Aligned with the findings of previous years, POP's website, called the "HKU POP SITE" at http://hkupop.hku.hk, now carries the results of this follow-up poll.　 Our research team would be pleased to answer any question regarding the research design of these surveys, but would not comment on the result of these surveys. Such an arrangement would be reviewed when we have more resources.
